Past Experience: I have been racing bikes for 12 years, 9 of those years as a category 2 racer and 1 year as a Pro in 2000. Finishing the 2001 season as an amateur Pro racer without a team, I took some time off. Career Highlights: Competed in the First Union Series in 2000, including the First Union USPRO Championships in Philadelphia, PA. Also competed in the USPRO Criterium Championships in 2000. What I Bring to the Team: I have been racing bikes for 12 years, 9 of those years as a category 2 racer and 1 year as a Pro in 2000. Finishing the 2001 season as an amateur Pro racer without a team, I took some time off. Growing up in Houston TX, and riding bicycles often as a kid and as a mode of transportation to and from work as a teenager, speed became an obsession. After riding my first two road bikes into the ground from all the countless miles in one year, I was hooked. With no bike and unable to afford a better one, riding again had to wait. After graduating from highschool in 1989, a year later, my brother gave me a bike that I could race. A couple of weeks later, I did and finished in 12th place. With proper coaching and a bike that fits how good could I be? After a 7 year absence from the sport and 1 year into my return as a cat 3 racer, I am no longer interested in dreaming about being at the fore front of races, but preparing for it. My personal goals are to compete as a cat 2 racer again, or higher, and to bring as many of my teammates with me as possible. At the young age of 38, I feel my best will be seen again and remembered.
